Environmental Economics
Environmental economics is talked about often in the media at present. Questioning the cost of moving to a renewable energy-based economy from a carbon-based one is one side of the debate.
Querying the savings and long-term benefits of the same process is another. Reducing conflict in oil-rich parts of the world, alleviating poverty and increasing the wealth of developing countries are all possible from moving to a cleaner, energy-rich world economy, as well as mitigating the negative effects of climate change such as flooding and drought.
